2009 Recruiting Success Stories & 2010 Recruiting Strategy

When I look back at all the accomplishments in ECLP recruiting during 2009, I can’t help but think about the progress we made in putting the ECLP brand in the right places and in front of the right people. The fact that you are reading this ECLP blog on a dedicated ECLP site is a testament to the hard work and innovation of many current ECLPs who constantly strive to get the best and brightest to join this program. From an internal perspective, we were also able to position ECLP at the forefront of GE’s largest and most critical initiatives. These initiatives were kicked off in 2009 and are immensely successful as a result of ECLP leadership. They were instrumental in fulfilling our goals in recruiting the full-time ECLPs joining us in July 2010 and the Interns that joined us in the summer of 2009.

Speaking of recruiting, our Internship teams recruited the 3^rd consecutive class of 30+ professionals for the Summer of 2009 and we are gearing up to continue that level of success when we head back out to campuses in early 2010. In addition, our full-time recruiting teams continued to expand their scope in identifying valuable talent on a global level and are in the process of building the class of 2012, as we speak!

In fact, the GLOBAL element is the one of the major challenges that ECLP has placed on itself going forward. We are a global company and we are looking for global talent to fill the ECLP pipeline, AROUND THE WORLD! We took a small step in this effort during 2009, but 2010 will be our breakout year! We have already begun to review our strategy and position our recruiting teams to find the immense talent that is primed to join ECLP, no matter what pocket of the globe in which it exists.

Embracing the Global theme will also drive the imagination behind many of the initiatives we hope to launch in 2010 and improve upon from 2009 (Campus Recruiting, Case Competitions, etc.) So, keep your eyes out for us in the next twelve months because no matter what corner of the world you are in or what GE business is closest to you, an ECLP won’t be far behind!
