ECLPs have always strived to deliver on the larger goals set out by the Company. Our last few conferences have worked in healthymagination themed events to promote wellness and the sense of comraderie that can only come from a shared marathon experience or a friendly football match.

At the same time we’ve tried to work consistently to bring down our environmental impact. With intiatives like carbon offsets for flights, reduced use of plastics and disposables, and reducing paper and printing waste where practical, ECLPs are striving to “walk the talk” when it comes to conservation.

Remember to "Choose Your Boss Wisely"

After almost two years on program, the ECLP off-program process is now staring me squarely in the face. It’s time for me to finish out the last two months of my third and final rotation and find a more permanent home.

The off-program process for ECLPs is different in each business. However, the one thing that is consistent across businesses is that this will be the first time in two years that we won’t be placed into roles. Much like an external candidate, graduating ECLPs are expected to apply and interview for available opportunities.

Yesterday, NBCU’s Peter Alexander hosted GE Live from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with an interactive broadcast to business schools across the globe. GE Chairman and CEO, Jeff Immelt and CMO, Beth Comstock joined Peter to discuss “From Reset to Renewal: The Role of Business in Today’s World.”

GE Digital Summit - Day 1 Twitter Digest

Over the past 2 days, GE hosted its first ever Digital Summit in Stamford, CT with ~160 of GE’s digital “rockstars”. During this event, participants were encouraged to tweet real-time about what they were learning, questions that came up as well as any other thoughts related to the topics. During the 2-day event, a live stream of these tweets was displayed on stage at all times. GE Ranked Best Company for Leadership

BusinessWeek recently released the results of an annual survey conducted by the Hays Group announcing the Top 20 Best Companies for Leadership. For the third time in the past four years, GE ranks #1.

Survey results indicate that the Top 20 companies overwhelmingly believe that “leadership development programs better allow employees to deliver on [their] company’s goals / strategies.”
